Pav & Broome Diamond Jewelers recommends to have your jewelry properly cleaned and inspected every 6 months to check for damage and and any necessary repairs needed. We provide this service free of charge.
Home remedies are not very effective, or safe for your jewelry. Do NOT use any chemicals containing chlorine or bleach. It breaks down the nickel/copper alloys in the jewelry and becomes brittle. Take off your jewelry while in a chlorinated pool or while doing household cleaning.
Don’t be tempted to use toothpaste, glass cleaners or ammonia to clean your jewelry. All are great cleaners but not designed for use on your jewelry. Some products are too abrasive.
- Toothpaste is abrasive and can leave a residue on gemstones.
- Glass cleaner is not strong enough to properly clean your jewelry.
- Ammonia at full strength can stain your clothes.
Have your jewelry cleaned by a professional. They know the formulas for every type of jewelry, to clean effectively and safely.
